Witch Window

Definition: a diagonal window, resting on the higher part of a home, near the roof, tilted approximately 45 degrees, with its long edge parallel to the roof slope.

It is so called because of the belief that witches would not be able to fly their broomsticks through it.

According to Wikipedia, these are also called coffin windows, lazy windows, or Vermont windows, as in the state where they are most common.
